Description

If I am on page A, and page B contains a xinha area, and I click from page A to B, my history now contains

A -> B -> B

In other words, to get back to page A I have to click Back twice.

This is in svn trunk as of ticket submission.

Change History (5)

That's in Firefox 1.0, btw

In IE 6, I get in my history

A -> /xinha/pop -> B

still have to click Back twice.

I believe this is the relevant bug - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264403 (it's essentially the same problem). basically document.open, which is used to dynamically write the contents of the editor's iframe, inserts an item into the window history, when it shouldn't.

i think this bug can't be fixed by xinha(?)

I do notice the Blogger's wysiwyg editor manages to work without screwing up my history, though.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Depends on how it's written. For Xinha, the way it's written mean it can't be fixed, other editors work in different ways, which means that they may not have the problem.

It IS a bug in Gecko though, so maybe oneday it will "just work".

It's interesting that typepad, which uses htmlarea, Xinha's parent, doesn't have this problem.
