#892 new enhancement

Extending inwardHtml/outwardHtml functions for internal rewriting of Flash movies

Description

This is more a feature request than a bug ticket... Anyway...
I'd love to see the inwardHtml/outwardHtml functions to be extended in a way that they replace an inserted Flash movie with an image (formatted to look like e. g. a Flash movie container in Dreamweaver) that represents the movie with it's dimensions. Ideally the params of the movie would be stored in an attribute of the image (let's say the alt attribute) and upon saving or switching to source view the embedding code would be re-generated based upon those stored params.

Do you think this could be done?

I think you should have a look at this #669

Ray, thanks for answering. I came accross this ticket too, however it is no help as it requires JavaScript? to be placed into your content, the use of getHtml plugin and sadly the FlashEdit? plugin which appears to be slightly buggy, especially when using IE your flash code get's messed up most of the time when re-editing.

What I was thinking about is something completely different as the rewriting of code IMHO only should happen in Xinha and not in your website.

  • Component changed from Xinha Core to Plugin_Other
  • Milestone Version 1.0 deleted

This should happen in a plugin (FlashEdit??) if anywhere, a plugin can easily extend those functions if necessary. Certainly not a core thing, and thus not slated for v1.0 specifically.

This is actually a feature of the MediaPlayer? plugin which is planned for the next release...
